For carpet care, the BR 13/1 MW cleans using encapsulation technology. The facility manager of one major U.S. hospital claims that the encapsulation method used on an interim basis between hot-water extractions has proved to be one of the most significant carpet cleaning innovations in decades.

With the encapsulation system, dry detergents are sprinkled onto the carpet. The BR 13/1 MW works the detergents into the carpet fibers, where they attack the soils and then crystallize. The carpet is vacuumed, and with each vacuuming, it gets cleaner because more crystallized soils are vacuumed away.
