Chicago University Chooses A Low-Moisture
Auto-Scrubber for Hard Floors

When a major Chicago university decided to transfer to Green cleaning chemicals and equipment, the school’s administrators found it relatively easy—until it came to selecting an environmentally preferable floor-care machine.

But new technologies have been developed that help make floor machines Greener.  And one system, the administrators discovered, seemed to be healthier, more effective, and overall easier to use than any other: cylindrical brush floor-care technology from Tornado.

Cylindrical brush floor machines are low-moisture machines. They use less water and less chemical than conventional rotary machines. These factors promote sustainability and are key components of Green cleaning.

Also, unlike rotary machines that glide over floors, the brushes on cylindrical machines penetrate deep into the pores and grout of floors, removing soils and contaminants without the need for more worker effort or cleaning solution.

And the school administrators were impressed with one more Green aspect of cylindrical floor machines—they help reduce the amount of cleaning waste carried away to landfills. That’s because the cylindrical brushes last as much as 100 times longer than the typical rotary pad. This not only helps protect the environment but is a cost savings to the school as well.
