Healthier Floorcare Equipment
Richard Sanchez, who also owns a contract cleaning company in Santa Rosa, CA, was asked by an educational facility to use Greener products and equipment to clean their facility.
“They were especially concerned about the floors,” says Sanchez. “They wanted their floors glistening, but believed maintaining a high-gloss shine might not be healthy for the environment.”
To accommodate the client, Sanchez selected Green-certified chemicals to replace the conventional floor care chemicals. He also decided to get a new, Greener floor machine.
The propane burnisher he used did not have an internal vacuum system, so dust and debris often circulates throughout the building when burnishing. This happens because when burnishing, a small layer of the finish’s surface is actually ground down.
Putting the Green in Floor Care
After investigating several floor machines, Sanchez selected the healthiest floor machines he could find: the Clean-Air 2000 Glazer™ manufactured by Tornado Industries.
The high-speed electric Glazers are known industry-wide for their excellence in design, quality, operator comfort, and performance. “This machine has a 20-inch burnishing path, and the pad rotates at 2,000 rpm,” says Sanchez. “And the Glazer is all steel—not plastic—so it is designed for years of use.”
The Clean-Air 2000 Glazer also has a deck shroud to trap dust and debris so it does not become airborne. It also has easy-to-clean twin filters that collect the impurities.
“Going from my old burnisher to the Clean-Air 2000 Glazer was like going from night to day,” says Sanchez. “This machine is not only state of the art and easy to use, it helps my company make a contribution to healthier cleaning to help protect the environment.”
