What’s Happening at Tornado

• There’s a new rep group in the northern Illinois territory—Jim Keogh & Associates. Headed up by Jim Keogh, the group joined forces with Tornado a couple of months ago, with Jim diving right in by getting acquainted with his territory and dealers. He’s got considerable jansan experience, having previously worked for both rep groups and manufacturers. • Tornado is in the process of getting two new Inside Sales representatives up and running. They are Jim Mazeika and Allison Jones. We’re excited to have them with us, and no doubt you’ll be speaking with them in the near future.
  
• Due to problems experienced with the foam-filled tires of the BD and BR 750 auto-scrubbers, new units will be coming equipped with solid-rubber tires. Any defective tire matters that arise for models already in the field will be treated with the issuance of the new rubber tires. If you have any questions concerning this issue, please contact our Service Manager, Diana Vazquez.
  
• Tornado has completed product-approval testing at Tandus, the parent company for such well-respected commercial carpeting manufacturers as Collins & Aikman, Monterey, and Crossley. After undergoing rigorous testing, we’re quite happy to report that all Tornado carpet care products were approved for use by Tandus. All models except one were honored as the best or second best ever tested in their respective categories (the only machine not achieving this rating had a solution tank design that prohibited all of the solution from being pumped from the tank, thereby negatively affecting the test resultsThis means that if there is a project involving the use of Tandus carpeting, Tornado carpet care machines are approved for use. This will give you access to many projects in the educational and healthcare industries that you may not have had access to before.
  
• The next Product Training Session is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, June 21 and 22, at Tornado. Past sessions have proved to be extremely beneficial to those who have attended. Without fail, after the session we see a positive spike in sales from each dealer that was there. The session is hands-on, with demos being performed. The cost is $150 per attendee. Tornado will cover hotel and meal expenses, and the dealer is expected to pick up the travel expense. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about Tornado products and about Tornado the company. • Keep thinking of using EZ Parts when you need to know more about parts. EZ Parts is a treasure trove of useful information that’s at your fingertips, possibly eliminating a call to Tornado and thereby saving you time and effort. Information available includes part numbers, part prices, machine schematics, owners manuals, and various marketing items such as cut sheets. Each Tornado dealer should have a CD-ROM from which EZ Parts can be installed. EZ Parts is also accessible on the Tornado Web site, provided you have a user ID and password. If you don’t have them, just contact Carol Hosp at Tornado, and she’ll be glad to issue these to you.
  
• Tornado will be attending the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago from May 19 through May 22. This has historically been a great show from which many leads are obtained. Be on the lookout for leads coming your way in the near future!
